“Why Would You Leave?” 10 Goal Celtic Ace Urged To Snub Interest Amid Premier League Links

Alan Hutton has told Celtic winger Liel Abada to snub interest from Southampton and stay at Parkhead.

The Saints are currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, with manager Nathan Jones coming under heavy criticism from his own fans, and Hutton says there is no incentive for Abada to move down south:

“If you look at Southampton and the situation they are in, there is a massive possibility of them being a championship football club next year. Is that something you want to be a part of? I know they are probably building for the future but everything that is going on with their manager at this moment in time, it is a little bit uncertain.”

“Why would you leave somewhere that you are comfortable, happy, winning football matches, going for trophies to go to somewhere there is going to have to be a massive turnaround?”

Hutton has hit the nail on the head with his remarks. Abada is part of an extremely successful team in Scotland, having racked up 10 goals and provided five assists in 34 appearances this campaign.

The Israeli international may be keen on getting more starts (having only been selected in the lineup nines time in the league this season), but that’s far better than playing for a team struggling to stay afloat in England’s top flight.

Of course, a sizeable wage rise may tempt Abada into making the switch in the summer but if he is motivated by footballing reasons, he should remain at Celtic.
